Cousin Hadleigh Jayne's 4th Birthday..Little Mermaid

Each year in July my cousins, Rachel & Brad, bring their kids to SB to visit her parents, family & friends. A few years ago when Hadleigh had her 1st Birthday we had a barbeque. I offered to make her 1st Birthday cake. She freaked out and didn't want the chocolate on her hands..wanted nothing to do with it.  This year she asked for Little Mermaid cupcakes and I couldn't wait to start working on fondant pieces for the cupcakes.  I love Disney and jump at the chance to create Disney characters.   I bought an Ariel candle just in case I could not make a mermaid. I found a mermaid on Flickr by Love a Cupcake that was perfect so I did my best to copy her.   The crabs were recently featured on TomKatStudio. She had someone make them for her son's birthday.

I used a Wilton decorating tip to create the scales on her body. I pressed 1/2 of it into the fondant to make the marks
Happy Birthday Hadleigh
She almost finished the whole thing
